A busy first six months of 2025!

Clients continue to come to us for help, many referred by GP social prescribers, the Harpenden Trust, and other local organisations. Around half came to us for support with problem debts; the rest needed help navigating a wide range of benefits queries.

On the debt side, nine clients have had a total of £165,000 written off—including our highest single amount yet: an incredible £49,894. We continue to help many other clients stay on track with repayment plans agreed with their creditors. In every case, clients are able to rebuild their lives with dignity and a renewed sense of hope for the future. Debt and mental health are often closely linked, and we witness the transformation as clients move forward—feeling less anxious, gaining greater stability, and finally finding some space to breathe.

Thanks to your support, benefit clients are now £1,735 per week better off and have received over £27,000 in backdated payments. Three of these were successful appeals—two for PIP, one for Universal Credit. The process is long and emotionally draining, often leaving clients feeling disbelieved—but we stand alongside them. In these cases, our clients were awarded nearly £18,000 in backdated payments after many  months of financial struggle.
