Many of our clients have experienced domestic and financial abuse and have had to relocate to escape their abuser. Yet when they try to rebuild their lives by applying to have their debts written off, they can face a final, painful injustice.

The Insolvency Service publishes the names and addresses of everyone granted a Debt Relief Order—information that could allow an abuser to track them down.

There is a way to protect survivors: applying for a Person at Risk of Violence (PARV) Court Order, which keeps personal details off the public register. But the cost—£308—is simply unaffordable for many.
